Situation

The Central Florida Chapter of the National Black MBA Association, Inc. (“CFLBlackMBA”) hired Executive Thought Partners, LLC (“ETP”) to produce their 2020 Year in Review video presentation project.  Like most organizations, they needed to adjust because of COVID-19, and since March, they have presented their programs online. ETP offered them an end-to-end value proposition, such as recommending a tactical approach, providing project management, video production, talent management, motion graphics creation, photography, and editing for an affordable price.

Tasks & Actions

First, we asked the Chapter’s Board Members to prepare a script for each of the six days covering the President’s Opening Message, Scholarships, Membership, Programs, Corporate Partners, and Fundraising and provide any available digital assets.  Then we set up a Production Day at the National Entrepreneur Center in Fashion Square Mall, downtown Orlando, FL.  We lit two alternating locations with three-point lighting, two camera angles, and a teleprompter.  We utilized Sony A7RIII cameras, Neewer panel lights, and a wireless PicoGear Dual Microphone for sound.  We edited the project over two weeks in Adobe PremierePro, created motion graphics in After Effects, and added licensed music from AudioBlocks. We also photographed several team images in a conference room setting to have additional digital assets for the videos, websites, and social media platforms.

Results

The CFLBlackMBA started sharing the six videos daily on November 30th and ended on December 5th, posting them on Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube, and Instagram, and sent the embedded videos in their email newsletter, generating maximum reach.  They told us that the videos were well-liked by the membership and received many “likes.”  Most importantly, they were able to share the effectiveness of the Chapter’s work despite COVID-19 challenges!
